Planetarium Hornos Cosmolarium
Opened in 2012, the centre has several exhibition halls dedicated to astronomy, workshops, temporary exhibitions, a terrace for astronomical observations and from which to contemplate the landscape and a planetarium for simulations and full-dome movie projection.
Space Exploration Cosmolarium Hornos
The history of space exploration from the launch of Sputnik to the Voyager Expeditions to the outer reaches of the solar system and beyond is covered by a fascinating series of computer slides. You will also see a history of astronomical observations from the earliest stone age observatories through the work of the classical period in the Middle East to modern observatories such as those on La Palma.
The planetarium is open at regular times throughout the day. Two projections are shown. The first is an interesting discourse about light pollution and the measures taken to alleviate the effects. The second takes you on a tour of the solar system.
