Tee to Green

       with Bob Gaston

Hello again. In this edition we will be looking at the professional scene and who has started well in the new 2019
season in this extremely competitive sport.
World Rankings Justin Rose ably cemented his No.1 spot when he won the very prestigious Farmers Insurance
Open a couple of weeks ago. In very difficult conditions he held on to the Sunday demonstrating his sheer
consistency where his pursuers let a few shots go.
European Rankings Shane Lowry (Ire) is currently on top however, it must be noted that it is very early in the 2019 Bespoke: Curtains, Blinds, Rollers
season and many of the top European players are taking a break before the big money tournaments start. This is Romans and Venetians
good because it gives the new players on The Tour and some of the lesser players a chance to earn some cash early Made
 on.

Ladies Tour Rankings Charley Hull (Eng) is leading The Ladies European Tour (LET). It is growing nicely with to
prestigious courses in the 2019 Schedule. Prize money is still an issue of course with the latest Tournament only FREE
30,000 dollars to share. Measure consultation
Leisure Breaks Golf Society – Duquesa Port and
Their outing this month was at ALCAIDESA HEATHLAND. Evidently, the course was in good condition but the measuring
weather was very windy so scoring was difficult. The guys that came out on top were :- service
1st with 36 points off 18 Hcp - Mark Read, 2nd with 33 points off 19 Hcp -Gordon Short
3rd with 32 points off 14 Hcp - Paul Nash
Ryders Golf Society – Duquesa Port
Ryders Golf Society play every week and last week played at LA QUINTA G.C – San Pedro de Alcantara.
The course, as usual, was in tip top condition, but difficult.....it’s always difficult. Many congratulations therefore to
David Jukes who achieved 41 points off a handicap of 8, sauntering round in 75 shots. Second place went to Robbie
Lumdon and, unfortunately bringing up the rear was Geoff Camm who couldn’t get it going on the day.
Lastly, all the boys at Ryders Bar wish Scott a speedy recovery and hope to see him back playing soon.
