On the Water

Estepona is one of the most favoured ports from which to fish the Mediterranean Sea. Only 40 kilometres from the Strait of Gibraltar, the stream of cold water constantly flowing in from the Atlantic Ocean follows the Spanish Coast. The cold water meets the warm waters of the Mediterranean just offshore creating a feeding ground for small fish. They in turn attract the larger game fish.
Fishing the Med is an unpredictable pastime. Fish that are supposed to be ‘in season’ vanish and fish that are ‘out of season’ suddenly appear
Of course there is much more to do on the water than just fish.
Tarifa is known as 'windy city', the windiest place in Europe and is a paradise for those that enjoy kite surfing and wind surfing. Whales and dolphins are regularly seen in the Gibraltar Strait and Mediterranean, dolphin watching is an exciting, fun, day out for all the family and the many marinas along the Mediterranean coast make this a favourite place for sailing and cruising.
