Ojén Charity Festival

held in Ojén, Málaga Province

Saturday 21 Sep 2019

Ojén Charity Festival for Cudeca Cancer Care Hospice

On Saturday, September 21, the third Ojen Charity Festival for Cudeca Cancer Care Hospice will be held in Ojén, an event that will bring about twenty musicians of different musical styles together.

The festival will open its doors at 12:00h at the Peña Flamenca, which will be filled with local artists who will play their music non-stop from midday until late at night. The event is to raise funds in aid of Cudeca.

In addition to the music, a charity bar will be serving food and drinks with the aim of helping to raise more funds. There will also be an informative stand where Cudeca volunteers will provide information about Cudeca´s care programmes. One of the big surprises of the day will be the tombola including gifts for all who buy a ticket.

This is the third Ojen Festival which started in 2017 and was born from the desire of the municipality to put its arena to use. “Ojén is a supportive town, well known for its hospitality and it always helps neighbours. This event is a good example” the councillor acknowledged.

Last year the Festival was held in aid of Sarah Almagro and the Association “Somos tu ola, palante con Sarah”, when more than 4000€ were raised.

Cudeca Hospice is a non-profit organization that offers professional medical care to patients suffering from cancer or other advanced non-curable illnesses, as well as providing support to their families, all completely free of charge. Every year more than 1,400 people need the professional and free care offered by Cudeca and since 1992 more than 15,000 patients have been assisted in Malaga Province.

Thanks to the support of all the Malaga community, Cudeca can cover the cost of the palliative care which is more than 3 million euros a year. Events like the “Ojen Charity Festival” help Cudeca to continue offering their care programmes to those patients who need them through the philosophy of palliative care where patients are more important than the illness and feel dignified until the end.

Tickets cost €5
